Duke of Edinburgh

Students in Yrs 11-13 work towards achieving a Bronze and/ or Silver DofE Award through a structured programme of activities.

My-DofE-Journey

The Bronze Award is divided into different sections: skills, volunteering and physical which will be completed every week for at least an hour a week for 3 months. In addition to this one section out of the three must be achieved over 6 months. Students will also undertake a 2-day overnight expedition which is all planned by the participants.

The Silver Award is also divided into different sections, yet activities will be completed over a 6-month time period. The expedition for the Silver Award is 3 days and 2 nights. For this expedition students are expected to plan routes, menus and campsite activities whilst also completing their walks. A highlight of the expedition for many is the task that they have to complete, such as photography which they have to present to a panel upon their return.
