Olympic Medallist

One of our former pupils Ben O’Brien faced the world’s finest when representing Team GB at the Special Olympics 2015 World Summer Games which took place in Los Angeles!

A total of 7,000 Special Olympics athletes from 177 countries took part in 28 difference games.

Ben, who has autism, has been playing basketball for about three years and has also been training in athletics for the last 12 years since he first came across a Special Olympics leaflet here at school.

He returned home from Los Angeles with a gold medal which he won with this team.

Ben has also recently won Senior Male Sports Person of the Year from the City of Worcester Sport Awards which were hosted by Steve Cram CBE and Allison Curbishley.

We are all very proud of him.
